OTA System, which uses amber, red and black to differentiate among the three levels of risk, aims to provide information on 80 popular travel destinations for Hong Kong residents currently. Red Color-Coded Alert Coverage</SPAN> <BR><BR> If the security Bureau issues a  Red Color-Coded Alert within 24 hours of the original scheduled departure time of a Common Carrier and the circumstances leading to the issuance of such alert delay the departure of the Insured Journey for at least 10 hours, and the Insured Person then decided to cancel the Insured Journey, Chartis shall reimburse the Insured Person up to maximum benefits of HK$1000 for irrecoverable expenses paid in advance. <p><SPAN class=redbold>2. Black Color-Coded Alert Extended Coverage</SPAN> <BR><BR> TravelSmart (Round-trip) extends Trip Cancellation Coverage to cover  Black Color-Coded Alert . If the Security Bureau issues a  Black Color-Coded Alert one week before departure or during the journey, the insured person shall be reimbursed under  Trip Cancellation coverage. <BR><BR> <BR> <SPAN class=redbold>2. Free Extension of Insurance Period </SPAN> <BR><BR> The travel insurance policy will be extended up to a maximum of 10 days in the event that the Journey is being unavoidably delayed for reasons out of the control of the Insured Person. In order to provide travelers with a reliable and comprehensive travel protection, Travel Guard worldwide assistance services centre will, from time to time, assess travel risk around the world and offer 24-hour worldwide emergency assistance services. <BR><BR> </p> <p><SPAN class=highlight>FAQ</SPAN> <BR><BR> <SPAN class=redbold>1. How does the Security Bureau assess the need to issue an OTA? </SPAN> <BR>A: According to the Security Bureau, a number of factors will be considered including:<BR> - The level of threat to personal safety <BR> - Duration of the threat <BR> - Whether the threat is targeted at tourists <p><SPAN class=redbold>2. How can an insured person change his/her insurance arrangements if he/she needs to change the planned departure date due to issuance of  Outbound Travel Alert before departure?</SPAN> <BR> A: If you decide to change your original itinerary due to issuance of  Outbound Travel Alert , you could postpone the insured period up to 6 months from the original departure date. Trip Cancellation <br> The Company shall reimburse the Insured Person up to the Maximum Benefit stated in  Section 3a. Trip Cancellation of the Schedule of Benefits in the Policy, for loss of travel fare and/or Accommodation expenses paid in advance by the Insured Person, or for which the Insured Person is liable to pay in the event of cancellation, if the insured Journey is cancelled due to the Black Color-Coded alert within the week immediately prior to the scheduled departure of the insured Journey, provided such fare and/or expenses are not recoverable from any other source consequent upon the cancellation of the insured Journey. <br><br> b. Trip Interruption<br> The Company shall reimburse the Insured Person up to the Maximum Benefit stated in  Section 3b. Trip Interruption of the Schedule of Benefits for the amount of forfeited Hong Kong Airlines / Hong Kong Express ticket fare where the Insured Person has had to terminate and cut short the insured Journey whilst outside Hong Kong territories and return to Hong Kong.<BR><BR><BR> <SPAN class=highlight>Conditions applicable:</SPAN> <BR><br> 1. The Insured Person can only claim once during the Period of Insurance for any one of the following benefits arising from the same cause:<BR> a. Black Color-Coded Alert Extended Coverage; or<BR> b. Section 3 - Trip Cancellation and Interruption; or<BR> c. Red Color-Coded Alert Coverage <br>2. The Black Color-Coded Alert Extended Coverage provided is effective only if the insurance is purchased before the announcement or issuance of the Black Color-Coded Alert under the Outbound Travel Alert System. <br>3. The Red Color-Coded Alert Coverage is effective only if the insurance is purchased more than 24 hours before the issuance of the Red Color-Coded Alert under the Outbound Travel Alert System. <br>4.
